It's finally my turn!

I’ve been to my fair share of wedding showers. And baby showers too (but that’s another topic). I’ve sat there and watched someone else open gifts and beam with excitement as they get ready for their wedding day. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been happy for every one of those ladies, but it’s hard always sitting there and watching someone else have all the fun!

Today it was my turn! It was the day of my wedding shower! It was hard to believe that all of the excitement would be for me!

Now, it wasn’t the best time of the year, as I had just lost a very close friend. My friends and I were mourning his loss and trying to deal with his death. It was hard to put on a happy face when were were all dealing with broken hearts. I know that my friend would have wanted me to be happy and have a good time (at least that’s what I was told), but the shock of his passing took that happiness away.

I put a smile on and headed over to my shower. I bought a new dress for the occasion. It was pink (of course) and I loved it! I opted to leave my hair down and give it some curl too.

The shower was at the Songbird Hills Golf Club in Hartland. The shower was in the upstairs room in the clubhouse. When I walked in the room I was taken away with how beautiful everything looked. There were pink flowers, napkins, favors and tablecloths, we well as gorgeous tea kettles on each table. The table of gifts exploded with pink color! Each guest also wore a little pink. Don’t worry…it wasn’t too much pink! The room was full of windows and the sun was shining in on us! There was also a patio off to the side. I had told my family that I wanted a girly shower and they threw me a girly shower. It was perfect! I even received a visit from my dad who happened to be golfing that day. He even wore a pink shirt for the occasion!

We played a few games which were pretty fun and ate lunch. The food was wonderful. Mom had even ordered pigs in a blanket for me!

I received so many wonderful gifts. I was shocked by everyone’s generosity. Towards the end of the party, Dan came to visit (and help pack up the gifts). It was fun to share the party with him.

Amy did a wonderful job with the invites! My sisters and my mom did an amazing job on the shower. It couldn’t have been more perfect! I’m one pretty lucky girl!
