Apartment Update

Things have been busy around here lately so I could be off on a few of the dates within this post.

Last time I mentioned that I had sent off two checks to put a hold on the apartment Brooke and I want. Ruth, the lady we’re dealing with, called Brooke and left a message saying that she only received one of the checks. I knew that couldn’t be the case since both checks were in the same envelope. I believe Brooke received that message over the weekend.

On Monday Ruth called Brooke to let her know both checks were there – just stuck together. Yeah, who’d have thought?! Now we needed to set up a time to sign the lease.

I called Ruth on Wednesday – would have called Tuesday but I thought Brooke was calling, and Brooke thought I was calling. I called the number on Ruth’s business card and left a message. Then I find out that the number on the business card isn’t the one that she normally leaves in her messages.

Anyway I gave her a call (on the “right” number) on Friday to try to set up a time to sing the lease this coming Monday or Tuesday. I still haven’t heard from her.

I think I’m cursed. I never seem to actually talk with anyone. If I do they don’t know what’s going on and “will have someone call back”… yet they never call back.

I tell ya, I’m just about done dealing with people.
